Terms of Use

Last Updated: August 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website at markdy.com, our documentation, interactive playground studio, or related digital services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website.

2. Open-Source Software & Licensing

The Markdy software packages (including @markdy/core, @markdy/renderer-dom, @markdy/astro, @markdy/mdx, and the VS Code extension) are open-source software licensed under the MIT License. For complete third-party library notices and font attributions, see our Open Source Licenses & Attribution page.

You are free to use, modify, bundle, and distribute the open-source libraries in personal, educational, and commercial projects pursuant to the conditions of the MIT License.

3. Intellectual Property & Trademarks

While the underlying code is open source, the Markdy brand identity, project name, custom logos, 3D mascot artwork, and original site design are proprietary assets owned by Hoang Yell and the Markdy project maintainers.

The MIT License does not grant permission to use Markdy trademarks, logos, or mascots in any way that implies endorsement, sponsorship, or direct affiliation without prior written approval.

4. Interactive Studio & User Content

The Markdy interactive playground studio executes MarkdyScript parsing and DOM animation rendering locally within your browser client. We do not store, view, or claim ownership of any diagram scripts, architectures, or text you input into the playground.

You retain full ownership and copyright of all diagrams and code you create with Markdy. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your diagrams and code do not infringe third-party copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets.

5. Acceptable Use of Website & Services

When using markdy.com and our hosted documentation, you agree not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the website's infrastructure, servers, or networks (including Denial-of-Service attacks or automated vulnerability exploitation).
  • Perform malicious scraping or excessive requests that intentionally degrade the browsing experience for other community members.
  • Misrepresent yourself as an official representative or core maintainer of Markdy.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The website, documentation, and playground are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, under no circumstances shall the authors, maintainers, or copyright holders of Markdy be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of the use or inability to use this website, documentation, or open-source packages.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect updates in our project or legal standards. Changes will take effect immediately upon posting to this page with an updated revision date.

9. Contact & Governance
